Therapeutic support for adults
Whatever is going on for you, you don't have to go through it alone.
Having a counsellor alongside you can be a deeply empowering experience, offering you a place to express and feel everything you need to, without unwelcome pressure and judgment. Counselling can help you to make sense of things and move your life forward.
You will receive patience, softness, and gentle challenge - all essential for change.
Aspects of life that I support with are:
- abuse, trauma
- grief, loss, bereavement, pet loss
- relationships, separation, divorce
- anxiety, depression, stress
- loneliness, self-esteem, attachment
- work, studies
- redundancy, retirement
- illness, ageing
- miscarriage, infertility, baby loss
Be in no doubt that seeking support is a mark of strength. Talking therapy can help you to develop deeper self-knowledge and understanding, to strengthen foundations for the future.

About Me
I'm Kevina (she/her), a trauma-informed, neuroaffirming and LGBTQ+ friendly counsellor working with individuals aged 18 and over.
I have been counselling people since 2021 and running my private practice since 2023. Alongside counselling, I have a working knowledge of health and adult social care, having spent 15 years in a variety of public sector roles. I have provided counselling in a prison, and started my working life in an investment management team. I feel like I've done a lot, but have finally found my home.
An integrative counsellor, my therapeutic approach is a blend of person-centred and psychodynamic, and through a trauma-informed lens.
Based in Eden Valley on the Cumbria/Yorkshire Dales border, I offer counselling services UK-wide.
A Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I adhere to its Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, details of which can be found here: bacp.co.uk.

Walk and Talk Counselling in and around Kirkby Stephen
Walk and Talk counselling takes the therapy sessions outdoors. It can be an appealing option for many who find the formality of a therapy room uncomfortable, benefit from keeping their body in motion, or for whom online or telephone sessions are not feasible.
Walk and Talk counselling with me involves a gentle walk, or a sit down, in nature. What I offer is not an intended therapeutic connection with nature itself, although benefits can still be experienced. The core of the therapeutic work remains centred on the client/counsellor relationship and the talking elements of therapy.
Locations are chosen to minimise intrusion and maximise privacy, although neither of these factors can be protected fully.
What you share in the sessions will, however, remain confidential.
